“The small QinHuai River”I am a designer——the demands for game space and self-exploration of the pupils from the top class of the kindergarten
Abstract:Game space in the class is a major place for the pupils to play game, it has an important influence on the game activities of pupils. Through the study on specific actions, this case breaks the traditional practice that the game space is created by teacher, it is child-centred, exerts the subjectivity of children themselves in the space, let children create the game space by themselves. By discussing ideas, giving examples, simulating experience, modifying and improving to make children integrate their demands and feelings into the creation of the game space. Make the pupils participate in the creation and construction of the space personally with the strategies like cooperation in groups, collective share and repeated trying.

Public Play - Monster up
Abstract:Monster Up is a series of urban interventions formulated from the question “how can I design a situation that facil-itates playful behaviours in non-playful public spaces?” They are about reclaiming and transforming public spaces for local residents in the community Brunnsbo and encourage them to interact with their urban environment. In this project, I would like to investigate how the public space can potentially engage more children and then fnallyfnd the potentiality of turning public spaces into playscapes.During the design process, I worked with children and tested different play triggers in various situations which fnal-ly helped me settle on the theme “monster”. The method is to use a system to identify potential objects of the site instead of manufacturing new structures. By recreating and reimagining the uses of objects in playful ways, it broadens our views on how we should behave in public space and incorporate more playfulness in day-to-day life.

Let’s make a story!
Research on narrative design method of Multi-Sensory Children's Book
Abstract:Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of education and cultural heritage. It is a process in which human beings, through their own language systems, give full play to their imagination and creativity and organize and integrate knowledge and experience. In ancient times, humans gained influence and made connections through storytelling, and good storytellers had a better chance of survival than the average person. To this day, educators and parents begin to develop children’s storytelling skills from childhood. In preschool and primary school, teachers often encourage children to express their feelings and thoughts by telling stories. More commonly, nursery rhymes are taught to children in short, catchy short stories. In the process, children’s imagination and oral expression can also be improved. In addition, storytelling is also a kind of training to stimulate children’s creativity in their daily life, and parents’ conscious cultivation of children’s storytelling is also beneficial to the establishment of their visualized thinking and the improvement of their creativity.
The project will be a study of ‘ how to find a way for children to tell stories?’ and I hope that in this way, children themselves will be able to be story _makers, not just a listener. From a design point of view, this is a design project for a children’s book, or a storytelling tool. I tried to find a connection between the visual image and the sound elements in design area, to make a story together, to explore the more possibilities of children’s book design. The outcome of this project is an storytelling tool highlighting the children’s creativities and multi-experience. They learn by making stories with sounds and visual pictures. During such reading process, children can build vocabulary, comprehension, communication skills.
